Does the moss spread right and left? Or just bush out from the spots that you layed it?

A little of both. It grows up faster than spreading out along the wood. That is probably because it grows towards the light faster. I just trim it down again when it gets too long. I came up with the idea to lay it along the contour of the wood, then wind the fishing line around it, because it grows upwards faster. When I make a new piece, I spread the moss fairly thin, but it fills out pretty fast.

Only thing I don't like about moss is if its under the filter flow it collects "dust" easy. It is the last thing I put back in when I take the wood out to scrub algae off it. I wait until the water clears up good before putting it back. Fish LOVE to nibble the little critters or whatever it is that lives in it. My baby Rams are constantly nibbling it, but are not actually eating it. :)
