i love little hermit crabs. an living in florida, i come across tons of lovely shells on the beach. if i were to boil these shells well, could i place them in the tank for the hermit crabs to inhabit if they please?
kinda interesting idea?

Should be able to i dont see why not. I would boil them in water for about 5 minutes.

awesome! im sick of seeing my hermy crabs in ugly old turbo snail shells.
i also wonder, for curiousity sakes, if theres a special paint i can use which is non reactive in salt water and non toxic that can be used to decorate shells?!

Boil them like you said... I buy them at the craft store and boil and toss in.. I wish i could get some free shells..
