Lighting for plants question

Hey guys I have a question about lighting and plants. I have a T5NO with a 6,700k bulb and a color max bulb on a 40 gallon tank.I was wondering what kind of light I am getting. I also would like to start a carpet. Any suggestions on a carpet that is fairly simple to grow without extreme light? Any plants I could grow with my light in general? I do not plan injecting C02, just using flourish excel.

I'm getting micro chain sword to carpet with the same light in a 18" tall tank.. As long as you positioned the plants under the light you could possible do hair grass to??
