Lighting recommendation?

I want to get some basic plants for my tank nothing fancy in my 55 gallon. I was wondering how big of a light I would need to get them to grow. And if you can recommend a brand that would be great too. Thanks for the help.

It really comes down to how much you are willing to spend. If you can put a hanging fixture over it, then a single t5ho 4ft grow light with reflector on ebay is a good one. Another option is a the dual t5ho 4ft oddysea fixture listed on ebay also, both are around 40-60 dollars give or take.

If you wanted to be really cheap about it you could spend 20 and get a dual t8 shop light but don't expect any major plant growth.
