Im having to resist my urge to impulse buy this plant until I get a little more info about its care and growth, and Im having some trouble in that department. Most of the stuff Im finding online seems like it was Copy & Pasted from the same limited source. Its also known as Limnophila Aromatica.

Does anybody have any personal knowledge and/or experience with this plant? Special care, growth rate and propagation, potential problems/issues.... that sort of thing.

The tank Im thinking about putting it in will be 24" tall (minus substrate), CO2 injected, PPS-Pro fertilizer and lit with a BML "Dutch" 6300K XB.
Substrate is still being determined, but Im leaning toward either the ADA Amazonia or maybe just try the organic soil route (thats a topic for a future thread  )

The other plants in the aquarium will be various shades of green and maybe some yellows, so Im thinking this will be a good focal point plant with its reds and purples.

It's a good background plant. With your set up it will do really good. It will be a fast grower so you'll be trimming the tops and replanting and pitching the bottoms about every two weeks after you get all you want filled in. Your high light & ferts will make the tips color up nicely. Don't crowd it together so the lower leaves get light and you should be good. It probably will melt back a little from transporting and replanting but should bounce back fine. OS.

Thanks for the fast response, OS.
I was able to dig around online and find a little more info about the plant as well... namely its average height. Its a little frustrating that this info seems to be left out the majority of the time. Instead they give you placement options such as "mid-ground" and "background", and them Im left thinking "Just tell me how big the **** plant gets and I will decide were I want to put it!" :banghead:

At any rate, I think I'll pick some up tomorrow and get it in my grow out tank for now. Ive never seen this plant at my LFS before, so who knows if/when they'll get it again once they sell out of it.
