Any recommendations for low-tech mosses that will eventually cover a gravel substrate? I'm quite happy with my fluorescent fixture and lack of CO2, and the Anubias and Java Fern Windelovs are thriving in those conditions, so I'm really only interested in mosses that would like the same. Goal would be to eventually cover the floor of my 16G bowfront, but not invade the driftwood and filter tube. Low to the ground would be preferred, as we love to watch the shrimp and don't want them to be perpetually hidden.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions!

Xmas moss would be a good choice I suppose. . Affix it to plastic grids or crating..

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd like something even shorter and tidier, but the Christmas moss does look to be pretty hardy.

How about Peacock moss
