Had ph issues in my tank..fixed with daily water changes for a week...how long should I wait before buying new fish? also- had a dwarf gourami die of dropsy last week so - i only have the male gourami and 3 mollies.. do i need a female gourami?

No, you don't need a female Gourami. A single Gourami will do fine on it's own.

Before putting in any more fish, I would keep an eye on your water parameters for the next week or so. Your tank might not be cycled yet.
Do you know your ammonia, nitrate, nitrite levels?
