Moss or Algae?

Hello I'm a real noob when it comes planted tanks. I'm doing a lot of research to make sure I don't screw up to bad. I Picked this up the other day from a lfs. the lady there said it was moss, but didn't know the exact type. for the price( 5 bucks for two softballs sizes) Figured I'd give it a go. Just wanna make sure what it is before I introduce it to my tank. Attached are pics of what it looks like separated and when its all clumped up. Any help would be much appreciated
