Alright so just finally got back into doing planted aquariums after taking down my 30 gallon last year. This is where i'm at now, the tank is still cycling, and I kinda messed up my middle a bit now getting the black and white gravel too mixed together. Gonna probably take some teasers and one by one move each black substrate off the white lol.

So this is the fish I plan on putting in here
10 Cherry Shrimp
5 Cardinal Tetras
5 Rummynose Tetras
6 Emerald Danios
2 Red pencil fish
2 Mexican dwarf Crayfish

I'm also having an issue with the filter pulling at the plants so the thought is should I get a canister filter in here?

Well, even a small canister has an intake, so it might still tug at nearby plants. Also, I've never kept crayfish, but I've heard they can prey upon smaller shrimp. Someone wo knows better than I will likely chime in, though.

Mexican dwarf crayfish are really small, I think corydoras are bigger than them and from what i've looked up they are more peaceful and tend to leave other tank mates alone. But they need hiding places for molting.
