I have been building my own tank as it's easier to get past the girlfriend problem this way. It's a lot cheaper and hopefully isn't risky. Here's some pics let me know what you think.

The tank itself it 3'x 18" x 1'
The sump I think is 2' x 1' x1' with 3 compartments. I have a new tmc v2 450 pro skim and a tmc v ozone generator. I haven't finished my leds yet so have purchased some aquaone radiance 3.

Tank looks great, but now the real expense starts:) I thought I would save a lot of money with my own build, but spent so much more on fish and coral!

Huh? There's only one piece for the front and back. So 5 sheets of glass and the braces. Then used perspecs for the skimmer and down pipe enclosure

I see that now, guess I was suffering from a morning without coffee yet. It does look well put together. Something I wish I had the skills to do. Have you tracked your savings by doing it yourself?

You save a lot building yourself! I built my 40gal bow front for 150 would have been 600-700 for a new one!
