My Dwarf Puffers are battling the IP Balrog

On Wed. I received a pair of DPs that I mail ordered and it appears they developed a nasty case of internal parasites (IPs) in transit. Here's a link to my thread over at the puffer forum: The Puffer Forum View topic - Urgent - Just got DPs in the Mail - One Is Emaciated!?

I'm open to any and all suggestions!!

I wish I had any ideas, but it seems as though you are doing everything possible. Sorry for the troubles and good luck! I'm glad Mr. Neville is doing ok.

Sad to say that one didn't make it. I found the healthier of the two nibbling on the sick one and she wasn't moving. I figured she was dead. She surprised me and puffed when I netted her, but when I took her out of the net Dr. Neville, the other dp swam up and bit off one of her side fins. I manned up and euthanized her. I'm going to drink in her honor/memory tonite!

The good news is that Dr. Neville continues to eat the medicated worms and he took a very dark thick poop tonite. I hope that means the IPs have been defeated!

You can bet most puffers will have internal parasites upon arrival due to their natural feeding habits. Panacur and Praziquantel will take care of them
