oh my that is disgusting! he looks like a zombie! i believe it might be a tumor or it might be hole in the head disease but i doubt it. I wish your fish the best of luck.

It’s hard to see anything in the picture because of the blurriness. Can you tell us parameters and tank size/ tankmates. Anything or other fish in the tank who might have injured him. Has it been growing or looking the same? Was it there when you got the fish?

was not there when i got the fish ive had him for over 2 years just came out. right now he is by him self in a 20long. his tank mates are something others wont do he is with cichlids but he is bigger then them. ive had them together for over 9months. i can take more pictures of him

um well ...

tell me if i'm missing something but

1. gold fish are COLD water fish and cichlids are Tropical water. that is why you should not keep them together.

2. If your gold fish is bigger than your cichlids than it is definetly to big for a 20 long.

3. cichlids are aggressive and i wouldn't rule out a cichlid attack here because he was kept with them.

4. if it is an injury from an attack... i'm not sure if this applies to fish or not salt for humans hurts very bad on wounds in fact is considered a torture ploy to make it hurt much much worse. so I know your doing salt baths but im curious how the fish is reacting.

your right in everything but he is in a 75 with cichlids he is only in the 20 now because wanted to treat him to see if anything helps

he is reacting fine i can record a video if you want to see him better

Please post a pic

Videos are not viewable on my iPod my iPod is the first 1 like the apple iPod one it's super outdated

tried getting as much angles as possible but he was shy

He doesnt look so well

Not to be mean or tell you what to do but if the fish does die please don get one for the cichlids because Its just not what goldfish should be with i know it may work sometimes but for the benefit of the gold fish please don't .

so i should just give him away. i don't want to see him suffer have had him for 2 years. salt bath is kind of helping just did a 50% water change might treat him fir hole in the head and see how it goes just dont want to stress him out even more.
