My plants in my aquarium seem to have not much life in them and there is a black fungus or algae growing on them? Is this bad and what can i do about it? Thanks

I got them from a dobbies garden centre aquarium section and the have been in the tank for 4 weeks and i leave the lights on for about 12 hours per day

No ferts and just 2 big long strip lights in the lid of my fluval tank

hmmm do u know if they are t5 ho or what kind??? the lights might be one of the reasons also it depends on the plants some require high light and co2 some dont some need to be planted some need the rhyzome to be out of the substrate

what plants do you have

If you could post pictures, we might be able to better help you. Some stores have a habit of selling non-aquatic plants for aquariums...

There are the pictures of the plants, any help appreceated, thanks

How long have you had them? Many plants that you buy at LFSs have been grown emersed, and need to die back in order to grow submerged.

They were submersed in the shop? And ive had them for a month maybe 2

It says roma125 on the lighting unit if that means anything

The stock lights for a Roma 125 are usually both 20w t8 fluorescent. Normally one is for plants one for displaying fish colours. Hope this helps them help you!

Also if u are wanting to grow your plants it is recommended you change your bulbs every six months or so!
