Mysterious white spots

Okay so my cat has these big mysterious white spots on him. I tried ich medicine for the past 2 days but I don't think its working. I showered him with 3ml of ich medicine (he hangsout at the top of my tank) and these spots don't go away.
Can someone tell me what this is?

Heater burns?
It sure looks like they are of uniform shape, does he like the heater??

That must be it because he is right up next to it nearly half the time. I unplugged the thing for now, my tank doesn't really need it for the most part anyways.
As for the burns, I'm assuming they will heal in time

Watch it for fungus too, as a seconday infection.

Yeah that is most likely it!
But I wouldn't cut out that your tank doesn't need it, if he always hangs out by the heat source!! Most local fish stores should sell a heater guard, like a plastic..ish contraption that fits around the heater, raising the surface a few millimeters so there cant be any more resting on the hot parts!
