Anybody got any idea what kind of fish this is

looks like a type of cichlid to me.

I had these once... Ugh..... Just for the life of me cant member the name.

Bought him today at lfs and they said he was a peaceful cichlid so I put him in my community tank and all is fine so far

Peaceful? IDK, I remember seeing those in an ARLC tank once (at least that's what I think it was) and it was anything but peaceful...

Well I don't know about that he's a little food aggressive he just bit my bristle nose not bad though didn't hurt em at all

I just never seen one before they said its "rare" I guess but I never seen one before and I ve been in the hobby for 20 years and that's my thing oddballs check some of my pics out in other threads

what is this fish?

From my book Eyewitness Handbooks - Aquarium Fish, it is a Lemon Cichlid - Neolamprolongus leleupi. Habitat is rocky shallows of Lake Tanganyika. And their temperament is listed as peaceful. I didn't know there were any "peaceful" cichlids. They grow up to 3.5 inches. I'm going to try and attach a scan from the book.

I have had some luck wit cichlids in a tropical community tank before I kept peacock 1 male n 1 female and 1 white calvus with out any problems
