Starting 38 gallon tank

Hey guys so I’ve recently purchased a 38 gallon tank and was looking to start getting into the fish community. I was looking into the rainbow shark. For some odd reason a lot of people confuse it with the red fin shark that requires the 50 gallon tank and I want to get the one that requires the 29 gallon tank. Anywho I wanted to now how many sharks can I hold in the 38 gallon tank and should I start off with just one or get with a group ? I also want to add other kinds of fish to keep the tank colorful. I don't think they are recommended to be kept in a group. Unless maybe you had a very large tank. I had a single rainbow in a 29g awhile back and he was pretty territorial and aggressive with other fish in the tank. But if you wanted to Max out your tank with sharks I'd say 5. If you wanted to keep other fish then maybe 3.
