Need opinion on amt of fish in QT

I'm planning on adding a school of 10 harlequin rasboras to my 50 gallon. My QT is 10 gallons.

Should I buy and quarantine 5 at a time or go for all 10 at once in the 10 gallon? Don't want them to be cramped in there.

10 harlequins should be fine for a couple of weeks in a 10 gal QT.

Agree with sambo. You should be fine in the short term doing that

Another question. I run my QT with just a sponge filter. Should I throw an old HOB on there too for more biological filtration? Not really worried about mechanical since ill just siphon out poops.
