New filter for 5gallon

I started a 5gallon tank few months ago. It's all cycled and stats r perfect but the filter that came with it is to powerful and creates a strong current in the water. I've brought a new low flow filter but will it put the tank into a cycle again. It not too much of a problem if it does coz I can put the 3 guppy in my bigger tank till it back right but jut wanted to no so I don't kill them

There is probably enough BB in the tank to hold you over imo. Can you fit some of the old filter into the new filter to transfer some of the bb to tje new one

I have squeezed the sponges from old filter over new ones. And will keep an eye on the levels if they shot up then will transfer fish to othere tank till ok. Have also used some filter start in the tank so fingers crossed be ok
