Hello Everyone
I am currently curing 110 lbs. of live rock in a new 100 gal tank. With no fish. Skimmer running.
I have two questions
1. What is the good time to add in the live sand?
2. I have a 25W UV light set up for the system. Is there any benefit to running the light while tank is cycling to discourage algae growth? Any thoughts?
Thank you for your responses and have a wonderful thanksgiving!

You can add the LS now during the cycle.
I have a 25W UV light set up for the system.
Leave this off during the cycle as it will disrupt the bacterial colonies during the nitrogen cycle. HTH

I would also turn off the skimmer. There is no need for it at this point in time.

You can do as Hara suggested or run the catch cup drain back into your sump so when you are done with the cycle your skimmer will be "broke in"

I would run the skimmer, if you have any die off you want the skimmer running to get that crud out of the water. I ran my skimmer on my 125 when i cycled with LR and it pulled all kinds of crud from the water. Like Brenden says some skimmers have a break in period.
