New tank, some questions

I'm having a 72x28x22 tank built. The sump will be 48x20x18. So, here are my questions:

1. For a 2" sand bed, how much sand do I need?
2. How do the Radion G2 Pro's compare with the G3's?
3. Skimmer - What kind of skimmer would you go with? I have a BM Curve 7 in my 90 set up now, was thinking of going with a Curve 9, but am open to suggestions.

BTW, I have a nice Elos Sytem 120 for sale if anyone is interested.

Ohh and also a sand rec too. I have tropic eden reef flakes in my tank now and I hate it.

I use caribsea dry.. Forgot what size, maybe sugar size?

I have Tropic Eden Reef flakes currently. I keep getting brown algae all over it every day so I did some research and found out others with this sand also have the same issues.
