Found some great rocks on the beach... Can they be cleaned or soaked maybe in some bleach solution or something, and then placed in a freshwater tank?

Thx

I tried that once a LONG time ago and they turned orange. Must have died or something. Don't know. But, I removed them.

yes, but not the way you are thinking.

its the micro and macro marine organisms that live on it and inside of the rock.

If you soak the rock in boiling hot water and sit it in the sun for prob a week. Afterwards clean it again let it dry and see if it has a odor from die off.
I bleach my rock, rinse it and let it dry in the sun. I repeat at least two times.

they will most likely raise the pH in your tank. Also, in most states recreational harvest of marine live rock is prohibited.
