Mystery snails need 2.5 gallon to themselves, maybe try a Nerite snail

Most lfs sell them or you could always try online, I'm in the UK!

I've never seen nerites sold at PetSmart or PetCo. If you get a mild tempered Betta you could probably get a shrimp but seriously I image the shrimp will eventually get eaten.

Call your LFS and see if they have any or can order some. They are freshwater but can breed in freshwater so you don't need to worry about a population explosion of snails.

I'm pretty sure betas need at least 5 on there own but I think you really would be better with maybe some pretty guppies.

betas need 2.5 gallons or more and plus guppies need 5 gallons or more
