So, we recently had a very successful venture into making a 55 gallon aquascape, and the disease has caught! My girlfriend wants to upgrade my five gallon betta tank to a 20 gallon paludarium. I have a lot of questions and not a lot of an idea of where to start.
Okay, she wants a frog in there, what kinds of frogs would be okay with my mild mannered betta? And what needs would a frog have?
She wants a dirt build, is that ideal?
Do we need a terrarium lid for aeration, or is an aquarium lid fine?
If using a terrarium lid, what kind of light setup would be safe? I know about what kinds of light encourages aquarium plants to grow, I'm more concerned about what kind can sit on a mesh lid? How do terrarium lights fare?
What kinds of plants are used for paludariums and where can I find them?
