Planning for the big tank

Got the OK from the wife to get the 120 gallon tank I want finally. So being that it will be a month or so before I get it I am trying to take my time and really plan this one out correctly from the get go. Obviously the first thing I want to do is figure out exactly how I want to stock it. So Let me ask you guys about a couple compatibility issues.

I love tiger barbs (havent had any yet). What would you think of a 120 gallon tank that housed tiger barbs, African Butterfly Cichlids and Black skirt tetras as the main inhabitants?
