Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata 'Cuba', or commonly called Ludwigia 'cuba'. It's a high demand, high reward plant. It really needs good light, good CO2, and prefers (but doesn't require) softer water. I had some awhile back and it is absolutely one of my favorite plants I have ever grown:

You can see on the bottom of the first pic how it looked when I first got it, and what it looked like once it became acclimated. I ended up killing it all when I let my CO2 flounder and allowed algae to get a foothold, eventually snuffing it out completely.

Thanks. I have a 216 watt fixture on a 60 gallon, running about 30 ppm co2 and it seems to be doing well

My ludwigia Cuba has been dying; I have 2. From the bottom up, one if the plants seems to be slowly turning brown while the other looks very healthy with the roots about 5 inches from the actual plant. Will it grow back or should I get rid of it?

I would try cutting it above the dying portion and replant it. If not that, it might be a lighting issue.

There is only a fraction of it still alive so cutting it may not help it but im gonna let it sit and see if it grows back. I just planted it a week ago
