Hey everyone, I know there's probably dozens of posts on here about starting up a planted tank but I just wanted to clean the slate and start from scratch as far as instructions and supplies go. I have a 36 gallon bow front and a 10 gallon bow front aquarium and I'm hoping to soon fill with substrate and live plants so I'm looking for suggestions about lighting, substrate brands, set up, plants, and also if I should avoid any specific plants for bettas and guppies. Also im confused as to how to find out the wattage and brand of my lights. the 10 gallon has the original hood with lights, but the 36 gallon has a strip light and an improvised hood. Thanks in advance for any help.
