I don't have what u call a planted tank because I don't have tons of plants. I have a 20 gal with moss balls, java moss and java fern. With four snails and 2 fish. My snail had a problem with his shell receding so I called my lfs. The best thing they had was a turtle shell calcium tablet that adds calcium to the tank for shell health.

My question is: Is this going to make my plants happier too or will it be too much calcium leaving it in the tank until it is gone. It's in the shape of a turtle and has been in the tank for 3-4 hours and not much Is gone.

It depends what plants you have. If you do have plants that are particular about low GH/KH, they might not like it. Generally speaking, it won't be a problem for the vast majority of plant species.
