I have 5 clown loaches in all, the 2 eldest/largest I've had for 7 years have started mithering the life out of each other. It appears the 2nd from largest is fighting the largest for alpha status.
It's getting nasty, although I haven't seen their barbs out the largest clown has a couple of scars and today quite a nasty hole wound has appeared. I'm worried. This has been occuring for the last week. I have added new tube hiding places to the tank and moved stuff around but it's not altered the dynamics.
Shall I set up a tank and remove the 2nd largest clown?
Or should I remove the largest clown so I can treat his wounds independently maybe adding Melafix?
I don't know what to do for the best, please advise if you can.
