Power out!

My power had been out for 12 hours now. My indoor 55 is heavily UNDER stocked (thank goodness) and my goldies outside have the top completely frozen over. I'm not worried about heading the tank inside because it sits right next to the woodstove. I am way overdue on a water change though so it's already starting to smell. They didn't eat yesterday and no foods until the power comes back.

As I wrote this, the power came back on!

And now a quick pictorial on how to get through that ice and get your pump circulating water again. It went down to 3 degrees last night so there was over an inch of ice covering my tub.

I think it has actually frozen solid with the pump running underneath. There was a home still this afternoon, but when I checked it a few hours ago if looked to be all ice.
