q about snails

hey i wonder are snails supose to hide away in shell for days? u see they do move about at times but the apple snails tend to go in shell and float around for hours. i heard its their way of going to sleep and no need to worry. my black snail is'nt so active either it seems cause its colder that they dont like it. right now my apple snail is on crocodile statue, but only moves every few hours. weeks ago they were sliding up and down tank.

What are your water parameters? Invertebrates are sensitive to poor water quality.

hi man one is active again and sliding across the tank, but the other snail is missing the brown cover, it was on the gravel like it fell of, I can see into the shell and see a white blob, he seem to still be floating around, im not sure if they can survive without that cover, heard its their trap door.
