About 18 days ago I bought 2 Amazon Sword plants from a pet store out of ton. They were in relatively good condition, rich green, about 14 inches high. Firstly, does anyone know the exact name for these because my look like giant spinach whereas I see pictures on Google it looks like over-sized blades of grass.

Also, I'm having some leaf problems. I've had 4 shoots already since I got it and while 2 look great, the other 2 look horrible. Also, one of the older shoots has what looks like nibble marks along the edge of the leaf but I've never seen anything mess with them and it's just that one leaf. More pictures...

I have a Finnex "FugeRay Planted+" which operated 3p-10p on a timer. Water is upper range of the 7s in pH (7.8-8ish). Ammonia/nitrite/nitrates always great. I do a dose of Flourish Excel each day, a dose of Prime and extra dose of Flourish Excel whenever I top off the water, and a larger dose of each on big water changes. Gravel substrate, but have been considering switching to a black sand.

Just curious if this could be a certain mineral deficiency. I don't have root tabs yet, but I know that my tap water is naturally high in iron and calcium.

I've got 3 of the same type of "amazon sword" I'd like to know what they really are myself.

I can't say much about the bad leaves except cut them of low and let the plant grow more. I've had to do this on mine and new growth began quickly.

I run no co2, ferts or super duper special lighting and mine grow well.

It might be a melon sword, I think the shape of their leaves look more like yours, although I've never personally kept them. Also sometimes aquarium plants are grown out of water so their leaves are a different shape than they are after they have readjusted to growing underwater.
Are you giving your sword root tabs? Swords are very heavy root feeders so they need root tabs to be added underneath them in the substrate every couple months. This can be problematic if you have large gravel with large spaces between the pieces, because the root tabs will dissolve and can mix into your water. But if you have smaller gravel size you should be fine.
