Hi! i am new to all this and just setting up a 55. Want to do live plants. When i got the free, used tank it had about 2" of gravel, now i will buy a plant friendly substrate,
What is good thinking here? I am toying w/ idea of using the old washed gravel to thicken the bed and create terrain contouring. Then put the zoolite or whatever on top. Was then thinking about some lite gravel for color, just a thin skin, but the plants are rooted in the zoolite
