raised scales on swordtail

I noticed ich on my swordtail a few days ago - there were about 3 small white spots on his tail. I'm treating using heat and salt - my question now is that he hasn't been eating and looks to be getting thin and now his scales look like they are sticking up. Is this due to his weight loss? Or something else? Here's some pics - first pic is him fat and healthy, second is him now, third is a closeup of his scales

Note* - for the past week, he has been hiding in his cave with his fins clamped. Today is the first day he has been swimming around and his fins are up - still not eating though

Has the fish been flashing? It looks more do to that than a related ilness.
