Rams eat huge pond snails?

Just caught my new gbr sucking down a pond snail, they're in a bare bottom qt together, anyone see this before, will he eat my assassins In his new tank?

I was going to say, I have kept many rams with snails.

I was convinced he ate it! I was just walking in the door and he was knocking the snail around, immediately stopped to dance for food, snail looked empty and did not move for a couple hours.. All good though
