Hi! I have a bubble rod that I cut in half, so now it's about 6 inches. The thing is my air pump is a little too powerful for it and the bubbles just kind of shoot up super fast and they're making too strong of a current in my tank. If I pinch the airline tube to lessen the flow, is there a chance that I could overheat or ruin the motor in the air pump?

Depending on the pump, too much back pressure could cause some damage to the valves. Get a gang valve assembly or at least a three way valve to divert some of the extra air.
