I just bought a rena 200 air pump because all I heard about them was how quiet they are. Well, this pump doesn't seem any quieter than any other air pump I've ever heard. Is is maybe a bad one? Should I take it back? Or were my expectations just a little too high...

I would let it run for two or three days and see if the noise doesn't diminish. If it doesn't then return it. Sometimes after running for a year or more it might get noisy and the air output will go down. That means you need to get a tune up kit. I get these from www.bigalsonline.com and they keep my Rena air pumps running in top condition.
