A couple of weeks ago, our Platy gave birth to 35 fry in a breeder box. she's birthed fry on a monthly basis ever since we got her 7 months ago - we had no idea of their sexes when we got the two of them. but this was her first time in a breeder box because in the time we've had her, only 2 had survived to adolescence due to natural deaths or being eaten. she was in it for 3 days then gave birth and we've managed to save 6 this time.

finally, here's the problem; she still looks pregnant and is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. it's to the point that her scales are beginning to lift away from her body like static cling and she looks like she is going to explode. she gave birth 2 weeks ago, and we released after she had the fry and seemed done, about 3 hours time. every time before this that she had fry, she was big one day and slim the next, but not this time.
catching her was quick and simple and not too stressful of an experience for her so i am pretty sure she wasn't too stressed from the whole experience of the box. she seemed to like being in the there, she was finally free of her mate who follows her constantly. he was the one freaking out.
suggestions?
Thanks!

Sounds like she has dropsy. From your description, she has all the classic symptoms. There are some treatments such as salt in the water and eEpsom salts, but it is usually a bacterial problem and by the time they exhibit symptoms as you describe, they don't usually recover in my experience.
