Hello All, I am upgrading my 30G goldfish tank to 210G with 125G sump. I am new to sump system and would like the experts here to review/advise the design I came up with. Please let me know what you think about the attached design.

Not sure what the first 2 sections of the tank are divided off for?

With a 125g tank you have 6ft of tank length to work with and this is how I would personally section it off.

1 ft - Drain lines
6" - Foam Filters
2 ft - Biological filtration
1 ft - Refugium for plants
6" - Coarse filtration
1ft - Return

Thank you Mebbid,
The first two compartment are for automated water changes. I bought this used and the guy who designed it for salt water has used the first two compartments for automated water changes.

I haven't thought about the size of each compartment yet but you have given a good idea of the sizing. Thank you.

Also I am thinking to use lucky bamboo as plants in sump as they are easy to maintain and if they grow big i can use them in the home for decoration. Any thoughts if its good or bad.

overall I am having 5 kg's bio media in total.
