Right now its my turn to ask advice

I have never used RO and always used a HMA filter for my drip system

I was pushing 200 gal of new water into my tank which overflowed back out of my sump

I have just added a di resin cartridge to my system to see what results I get

The tds out of the HMA is 45ppm then after the di chamber its 0ppm

I know with a SW tank its not possible to use pure RO due to the low gh and kh
But will that be such a issue in FW

The di resin will burn out fast I know that but just want to see what results I get with 0 tds

I have lowered the amount of new water coming in to 150 gal per day

What I need to know will it still be a good idea to buff the water with say coral chips in the sump

With the size of my fish and the waste they produce effectively the whole tank will never be pure RO with the waste so will I need to add minerals

Any advice will be good

Thanks in advance
