Got two rocks. They came from a river and I want to put them in my tank. What do I do to make them safe? Do I boil them? I don't know what to do.

Umm I don't know what kind but I will post a pic of them. They're really pretty rocks:)

Last one looks like brains lol!

I think a good boil will be good, maybe boil em for around 5 mins, then scrub em and boil once more to be safe?

I see the "brain" appears to be quartz so it's safe. I'm not sure what the other rocks are though. Make sure you pour a few drops of vintage on it. If it bubbles it is very alkaline (the opposite of acidic) and will raise your ph of your tank. Rocks look great!

Well there are only two rocks. I just shown them as different dimensions. Like different views.

Haha "vintage" eh? What year would sir recommend? :p

I have slate in my tank and no issues so far *touches wood* the one type of stone I was told to avoid is limestone.

Okay. I heard that too. The two rocks are quartz and slate. I'm testing them in a cup of tank water to see if anything comes off or colors the water. I already boiled them.

I GOT MY ROCKS IN! After boiling them for five minutes then scrubbing then another five minutes. Then testing them in a cup of the tank water.

Looking good :)

The contrast between the stone and the substrate is great :)

Haw you thought of getting anymore? And maybe more plants?

Plants are good for water quality and the rocks look plain awesome lol.

Heres a link of my tank after I planted it, my fish love all the hide aways too lol :)

Thanks. I want to get more. I really want more plants. I just love the look of live plants In the tank. I just wanna fill it up with plants:)
