sae with popeye

my sae has pop eye, in one eye, he is a 30 gallon with tons of live plants, what should i do?

popeye is either injury or bacterial.
An injury can turn into a bacterial issue.
I would try Epsom salt to relieve the pressure behind the eye.
Unfortunately treatment(successful) of popeye is very closely related to dropsy which also rarely is cured once it is noticeable.

i know about dropsy ive had a few encounters with it, i almost cured a zebra danio of it but my sister thought he was Hungary so while i was away she fed him about as much as my 30 gallon, and he was sick and wasn't eating much to start with, so ammonia built up and when i got back about 1/4 of his body was covered in ammonia burns, so i put him down.
