Screming filter.

I have this cute little guy in a 5g betta tank.

Last week, I had left my apartment and at some point, the thing started screaming like a vacuum and my roommate unplugged it. I looked at it all over and nothing is jammed or broken. It looks perfectly fine. But, when I plug it in, it sounds like a shop vac, yet still does its job. No one touched it or bumped it. Happened out of the blue.

I have two other of these that I have used and I love them. No issue (until this one) and I love the spray bar. So, I'm kind of upset that this happened. I have recommended them to lots of people with betta tanks.

Is there hope of fixing it, or should I just get a new one?

not exactly sure how to help you without more details on construction of the pump, also on another note one of the folks I deal with at that fish place told me to avoid anything made by Tom due to low quality/performance
