Aquarium Advice Newbie
Hi, I'm new to this forum and really want to get some advice.
Unfortunately, my favorite goldfish has come down with what I think is septicemia from a drop in temperature. He has red streaks in his tail and had an ulcer. I have medigold antibiotic fish food and anti-bac bath from goldfish connection. As soon as I noticed symptoms, I immediately started both the medigold and the anti-bac. The anti-bac involves 25% water changes every other day so I'm doing that as well. I'm on the 3rd day of treatment and the ulcer has made significant improvement but he still has red streaks in the tail. Do you think I should add something to his treatment like triple sulfa, or do you think the medigold and anti-bac will take care of the issue? He has never acted sick or lethargic with this but then again, he's always been a very strong fish.
Here's some of his details
He's a 5 year old fancy goldfish
He's in a 20 gallon tank, no tank mates
Fluval C4 HOB and sponge filter
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 20ppm
pH: 7
