Anyone know how to tell the difference between male and female.

Besides the fish. lol
 
Males have longer dorsial fins, females are rounded. Also males are usually larger then females
 
thanks. I must have two of the same. one is more dominant. But the fins, and size are the same.
 
U could post pics just to verify, also they could be juvinials. How big r they?
 
They are about two years old, 4-5 inches. They still have some growing to do.
 
Can you post pics they would be more help then description and yes they do lol

Looks like a boy(first) girl(second) in your pics. What i ment by long pointed fins on the male is they both are pointed but the males fins are longer. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway good luuck
 
they look exactly alike to me. now, what do I have to do to encourage baby making?
 
bumping up the heat and some live food like earthworms or frozen bloodworms also puts a lot of cichlids in the mood a bit too. And ditto on the water changes and just waiting to see what happens.
