Should i get Plants???

Hey just bored of plain plastic plants and thinking about sum plants to put in. My very first question that came in mind was how many inches of gravel do i need? I only have about 1-2 inches of gravel. If i dont have enogh then i could just pile up gravel on a side to make it bigger. But if i do wat plants do you recommend for a beginner with tank plants? Also should i start with bulbs or grown plants? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to look at your lights and the type of bulbs you are using. Low light plants like anubia, moss and ferns, none of these are actually planted in gravel so you don't have to worry if you have enough or not. I haven't had much luck with the bulbs I have gotten at walmart. A lot of plants that are sold as aquatic are actually bog plants.
