Shrimp safe Seachem Tidal filter

Does anybody here own a Seachem Tidal HOB?
Any ideas how to shrimp proof this HOB, please.

If the intake tube is about the same size as the ones on an AquaClear, the Fluval Edge pre-filter sponge might fit over it. It takes a little 'persuading' to get on, but works like a charm. I have to wring out and rinse mine a couple times a week or it gunks up pretty badly (it's a fine sponge) on my 40g breeder with about 40 nano fish and 100-200 RCS (I stopped counting a long time ago, I just know there's a ton of them). The shrimp love to hang out on the sponge and pick out all the good stuff!
