We own a 180L saltwater tank with about 7 pieces of coral, 2 clown fish and a sail fin.
We recently bought another light as the aquarium shop recommended we do if we wanted to purchase more colourful coral.
Ever since we have done so, the coral seems to be dying. One of the coral has turned white, one has shrunk, one has developed blace spots all over it and they are all generally very unhappy.
We first took the water to be tested and were informed out salt levels were far to low, so we fixed that. All other tests are coming up fine??
Can anyone offer any advice? Could the lights be the problem?
Thanks!!!

I'm far from an expert on corals, what is the wattage/type of light you bought and what was the wattage/type of the old one? If the new fixture is significantly brighter then the old one you have to slowly re acclimate the corals to the new lighting. The lamps are also important, what type are they?

I agree. If you went to a significantly brighter light than that would be the problem. You needed to acclimate your tank to the new light by using window screen material or by just not keeping the lights on as much and building your way up.
