I have a 110 reef octopus in sump skimmer. Just wanted to know if I'm properly tuning it. I have the bubbles forming at the base of the neck. Should it be higher

All skimmers have a "tune in" period. Open up the air way and water flow all the way and give it some time. Then, slowly adjust it over time so that the bubbles are able to gently crest into the collection cup.
