:?: I like the big golden snails and like to keep large ones in my 90 gal tank, but since I've switched to Eco Complete I've had trouble keeping them going. There is plenty of algae for them on my back glass and I have alot of smooth rocks plus drift wood for them to cruise around on. My ph is 7.3 and my water is plenty hard to sustain their shells. Any ideas? The snails don't seem interested too much in my plants, so I wonder if the sandy qualities of the Eco is the problem.

Eco-Complete should work very well for snails because it has some buffering capacity and will increase your pH by .1-.2 and KH by 1-2 degrees. Have you dosed anything that might contain copper, salt, or formalin lately? All of them are toxic to snails.

No meds or other stuff have been added. I only dose a little ferts and traces. My fish are also fish friendly, rainbows, corys and oto cats.
