I'd start off with half as many patys if you plan to mix sexes. Before you know it you will have a large population.

The store was out of the platies I wanted, so I got 4 guppies, 1 male and 3 female and decided to follow the advice on the danios and went with 2 angelfish. They are super cool looking. I will keep all updated with how things go over the next few weeks.
